Orbitrap Massenspektrometer für die Core Facility des University of Vienna Biology Building (UBB)
The University of Vienna continues to invest in state-of-the-art equipment infrastructure to further strengthen its international cutting-edge research in the STEM disciplines. A Thermofisher Scientific Orbitrap Exploris 480 is being purchased for the Core Facility in the University of Vienna Biology Building (UBB) in order to expand the mass spectrometry equipment pool and increase efficiency in the Core Facility. The device enables sophisticated research projects in biology with unrivalled sensitivity and precision. This device is crucial for analysing disease mechanisms, biomarkers and the development of new drugs, particularly in proteomics and metabolomics. The investment supports the strategic focus areas ‘Global Health’, ‘Structures of Life’ and ‘Climate, Environment, Sustainability’ and also increases the international visibility of the University of Vienna as an excellent research centre.
